What is FTL?
The FTL is generally transport of full cargo loaded from one shipper to one consignee. Depending on the parameters of the cargo and customer's requirements, the logistic company may provide different options and equipment. Whether the goods require temperature control, greater volume, equipment for transport of dangerous goods, or any specific loading, the LSP provides different solution based on trucks with refrigerated trailer, jumbo trailer, or a trailer with specific equipment.
What is LTL?
One of the main advantages of LTL shipping is the possibility to consolidate on wheels shipments from different suppliers in one truck. Very often the LTL option is more cost effective as the shipment may be transported for a fraction of the cost of hiring an entire truck and trailer. The LTL solution is most preferable among the companies trading with small but heavy goods, parcels with custom sizes, and part loads.
What is groupage?
The Groupage service is one of the challenges for creative shipping for each logistics company and probably the most convenient solution for lots of industries. The consolidation of multiple consignments from different locations in a central HUB (warehouse) for customer pickup or loading onto a truck for line haul, gives all the parties (the LSP, suppliers and customers) greater flexibility, better planning and additional cost savings.
